SOLDERING TIP :There is no secret to soldering. Quick heat, good acid flux and clean preparation before hand all contribute to a strong clean joint. Scrubbing clean afterward with kitchen cleanser and a toothbrush is necessary, otherwise the flux will begin corroding the steel and discoloring the brass in a very short time.
SOLDERING TIP : When Soldiering on a the pinon gear,.You can put a drop of oil on the teeth of the gear. To keep the soldering from getting into the teeth when soldering it on. CHECK BACK SOON FOR ANOTHER SLOTCAR TIP

Hello Les, I guess I’m just going to have to write about the race, I can’t seem to get my web guys a– in gear to post my pics.Sorry about that World Famous.World did sat on the pole Thursday night truck race,at Slot Spot race way.1st place went to Wally beat Alan by 1 foot and 3rd place went to Nicky 4mosa.Stay tune for this weeks Truck race.
I would like to thank everyone, that show up last night at the motor building class that I had at Slot Spot Raceway.I tried to touch on alittle bit of everything.We start from A and went to Z in about 2 hours.I cover gluing mags in.I cover timing of the arm,Timing of the can.I talk about getting good contact on the arm.I talk about how to make sure everything is line up,to get the best out of every motor you build.I touch on motor break in.I break in all my motors for 4 hours at 2 volts at then 2 hours at 3 volts.Just to make sure that i get the best brush break in that i can.I am going to do a video about motor building and post it on this wed site soon. Saturday night Slot Spot RaceWay 1/4 mile race.After Seven in a row what can I say I can only say GO FAST.Even after they put the Nicky rule on us(100 Grams) we just got even better.And coming from the R & D frame builder(R=Rowe & D=Daddy or should I say whooos ya Daddy Frame Builder)You boys ant seen the best yet !!!And Go Fast in going to put a iBIG MOTOR in for the Thursday Night race.And when you have the one and only WORLD FAMOUS NICKY 4 MOSA The best 1/4 racer in Nashville what can I say.I ‘m one lucky guy to have all the great people around me.I have the best bulders the best drivers and the best motors.When you have that thats the way you win 7 races in a row.So far were on the way to alot more.I learn more and the R7D dept. is learning so watch out Slot Spot Here we come.Cya on Thursday night

Thank you very much for your kindness! I’ll be sure and pass this along to Joe’s father Vic for what you’ve done to help on this. Lots of people are doing all sorts of different things around the slot car racers community, especially folks that post and read on the OWH forum and know just what the young man is going through. Not to mention his dad and mom. I have 5 kids myself and just don’t know if I could be as strong as these folks are if it were my son going through all this!
I’ve been keeping up with the thread “Joes Track” and noticed all the things people are doing for the boy and had decided I’d like to do a little something myself and contacted his father asking if it would be ok for me to build and send a couple of cars for the boy and his dad to race together on the new track Gary Gerding of “Gerding Fast Tracks” has built with what I think are donations from other slot racers and manufactures. I know it’s not much on my end but it’s something. There’s many others that have e-mailed me for the address (Which is now posted) that are doing the same thing, so the young man should have a nice well stocked slot box when he gets home from the hospital.
Also, even though Joe is still in the hospital and still in serious shape, I know just how powerful the smile can be for someone not feeling well, Plus I refuse to give up and will continue to think positive that the young man will improve, get home again, have the stuff he needs AND go racing on that new Gerding track! so this is why I’ve asked for the rush on the decals. I’d just like to get the cars there ASAP in hopes for just little smile, and his favorite drivers are the 20 and the 88 car, so figured that’s what I’d send.
